Diaper Cakes have become the perfect newborn gift for baby showers. Regardless of whether you have over the top decorations or not, they normally are the center of attention at baby showers. Most diapercakes come stuffed with items that the mom to be would definitely use...especially the diapers.
Diapercake Warehouse strives to create the most personable diaper cakes at affordable prices, but we also understand that sometimes you may want to test your own creativity.
Our diaper cakes are unique because they all include the babys or parents name on them, but the diapers cakes are still beautiful even without a name.
In addition, Diaper Cake Warehouse offers stuffed animals and toys, ribbon, and other diaper cake decor that can be purchased from our site to assist you with building the perfect cake.

BEGINNERS CAKE INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions are for beginners and requires rolled diapers versus the standard stacked diapers that you see on most cakes. At Diaper Cake Warehouse, we use a variety of methods in creating our cakes, but the diapers are never visible on our cakes as our ribbon embellishments and decorations cover them for a more professional looking diaper cake.
-
Start out by rolling each individual diapers. Start from the tip of the diaper and roll inward like a napkin. Once tight, secure it with a small rubberband. Do this for each diaper. (should only take approx. 10 minutes)
-
Start the bottom layer out by taking one of the baby bottles and placing it in the center of the cake platter. If you have double sided tape, you can put that on the bottom of the bottle to hold it steady. You can also use a dowel stick instead as pictured. Place a large rubber band around the bottle or dowel. Then, one by one, take the rolled diapers and place one in the inside of the rubber band that is attached to the bottle to form a circle. Once that circle is complete your ready for the second ring.

-
Place another large rubber band around the circle you just completed and one by one add more rolled up diapers to the second ring. Your bottom base should have 3 complete rings. (approximately 35-40 diapers)
-
Now you are ready to create the second layer of the diaper cake. Follow the same first three steps, but you are using the top of the bottle you already have in place to begin the second level. The second layer should have approx. 15-20 diapers.

-
Once you have completed the second layer, there will be a small space at the center top of the second layer. This is where you will place the 2nd baby bottle.
-
The top layer of the cake will go around the 2nd baby bottle and you will follow the same instructions as the 1st two layers in arranging the diapers around the bottle. The top layer usually consists of approximately 7-8 diapers and is just one ring.
TIP: Give it a smooth look by opening up the diapers and layering them around the outside of the diaper cake as shown on the top layer. This will make it easier to add your decor and give it a more professional look.
-
Once complete, you will be able to add your ribbon and decorations. You can use double sided tape to secure your ribbon around your cake. For stuffed animals, you have to be creative. Some sew them on, some use baby saftey pins. This is where your creative genes come in!
